1 And after a time the master of the servant came and went into the vineyard. And seeing the vineyard fenced and moreover digged, and the weeds plucked up, and the vines flourishing, he rejoiced greatly at what the servant had done.

2 So he called his beloved son who was his heir, and the friends who were his advisers, and told them what he had commanded his servant, and how much he had found done. And they congratulated the servant.

3 And the master said: I promised this servant his freedom if he kept the commandment which I commanded him. He hath kept my commandment and hath done good work besides — adding to the vineyard also.

4 So the master made the servant joint-heir with his son. And when some dainties were sent from a feast, the master took enough for the servant and sent it to him. And the servant ate what was sufficient for himself, and gave the rest to his fellow-servants.
