Everything thou hast seen thou sawest well and truly. The tower thou sawest being built is myself, the Church. The aged woman whom thou sawest first, and who afterwards became young — that is the Church.

She appeared to thee aged because your spirits were aged and already growing feeble; but she appeared young to thee when your hearts were revived and your spirits made strong.
