Apocalypse of Abraham 19

And I answered and said: Eternal, Mighty One! Wherefore hast thou willed to effect that evil should be desired in the hearts of men?

Since thou art angered over that which was willed by thee, against him who is doing what is unprofitable in thy counsel.

And He said to me: I am angered by nations and peoples on thy account and on account of thy race — thy people to be! Coming through them, for I made known to all ages before the world, to prepare for them righteous men from thy seed.
